Gap Sap with Padma Shri Soma Ghosh
Dr. Soma Ghosh is a vocalist from the Benares Gharana, having received the initial stages of training from her mother Smt. Archana Chakravarty and later from Shri Narayan chakravartty of Senia Gharana. She received her M. Mus & PhD in Chhota Khayal under Pt. Chittaranjan Jyotishi of Gwalior Gharana and Under Smt. Bageshwari Devi, she specialized in the genres that typify Benares singing, namely Thumri, Hori, Chaiti, Kajari, Dadra and Ghazal.

Dr. Soma Ghosh is the daughter of freedom fighter, Shri Manmohan Chakarvarty and adopted daughter of Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan, with whom she had the opportunity to have jugalbandi / duet, five times, one of which was at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and once at the Parliament of India where she was facilitated by the President of India, Hon. Dr. A.P.J.A.Kalam, Smt. Sonia Ghandhi & Shri Jaswant Singh and again in 2010 by the President of India, Hon. Smt Pratibha Patil. She is also the first women to ever perform in the Parliament of India.
