Covering live events is not new for us though. We have had vivid experience of covering major events and taking them online. Starting from Rastriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 16 at Varanasi, prestigious Institute Lecture Series from IIT, Varanasi or the ‘Kashi Manthan' Lecture Series at Banaras Hindu University; we have covered eminent speakers with stage recording and one-on-one deep sighted interviews. Not only world class academician, but the list also consists of Padmashri awardees, scientists, social workers, artists, the Governors of states and achieved politician.
NJIA organized an international conference at AIC, BHU in 2019 where we took the level up as we connect medical professionals across the world with seamless presentations; back and forth, using limited resources. The device that we used for the first time was ultra-studio mini recorder that would connect our DSLRs with HDMI and convert it into webcam.
Back then the requirements and budget of academic institutions were limited, still we managed to capture some of the most critical content anyway! One of such work was the coverage of a heart worming lecture by Shri. Anil Kumar Jha; 'then' Chairman of Coal India! The Chairman was on his visit to the Department of Mining Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi along with the CMD of Northern Coalfields Limited, Shri. Prabhat Kumar Sinha in March 2019. We covered the event on behalf of the Mining Department, and it leads new possibilities for us eventually.
We conduct our first Live stream at NCL HQ with full professional approach by the end of the year, on its 35th Foundation Day. Since then, we have served at several instances at NCL and also other prime clients. With this we also kept on upgrading regularly both our tools and skills.
Earlier we used to use one ‘Camera Setup with a stationery stand’, which was enough for our earlier projects. As the scale of events goes up, we needed to break that limitation too. So, we added on an ‘ATEM Mini’ for this purpose. this enable us to use more cameras at the same time. Now we could place up to 4 DSLR cameras or video inputs across different spots of the venue through a dedicated network of high-capacity cables.
Laying cables, is one of the critical parts of any live event. To prepare the setup in a 300 sited hall, we need to lay more than 500 meters of HDMI, SDI, and other kinds of cables, and connects them with some 100 plugs and points.
These cables are robust and able to transmit up to full HD live video footages directly to the monitoring Section. Here we collect input data from all cameras, microphones, PPT inputs of presenter, additional slides, graphics, videos, animation, and promos. These huge data get managed realtime, and finally a well-mixed video stream goes online and output also made available for the display on local screens.
A professional event needs a professional approach in media, and we make sure they get one. We also provide our client with promo of the event, introduction videos of the speakers, slides and animations to be played during the streaming, specially designed PPT templates for speakers, technical and on-location assistance to the remotely located speakers, post event feedback video, follow up videos and much more.
Cables are good and trusted for their endurance, but they are limited to a limit and earlier cameras couldn’t be taken beyond that, unless we included the Wireless connectors lately! They enable us to mount a Z6 with a suitable lens on our Digital gimble, create a seamless network by connecting 2 counter devices: one- on the gimble and other one- at the monitoring Section. So, now we could take the camera anywhere within 200 meters still get same high-quality data up straight.
The actors, comedians, and meme stars manage to consume a much volume of our time we spend on web due to their attractive presentation quality. Academic and serious contents are often left unattended, not because of the actual content; largely because of the poor material quality of videos and, their unbearable sound. Since the beginning , we have had a single goal- making educational content entertaining. So, when ever we get a chance to enable an educator or a speaker with high quality output, we always made sure that the viewers and end users get the best experience while going through a lecture on a rather serious subject. Equipment’s are foundation of our service, but what we actually deliver is that experience of viewing.
Our comprehensive understanding on wide range of subjects, which ranges from art-history and culture to science-technology and medical; - were developed during our rigorous works with various educators from different discipline at IITs, BHU and other prime institutes during our earlier days. This understanding gives us the ability; not to just record and upload the content, but also to treat each content appropriately as per their need, and this is what make us stand different.
During these challenging times of COVID-19 we have been continually upgrading ourselves in equipment, experience, capacity, and understanding. These days, right from teachings to meetings, and from get togethers to events, everything is taking place in the online mode, so, the need of efficient online video broadcasting is not only stay, also to go up; even in post COVID world.
