Things That Lockdown Taught Us

It’s the year 2020, the sought after year is here! Everyone has always anticipated it to be a year of great technological advances, rising economies, upcoming advancements, landing on mars, sustainable fashion trends and everything merry across the globe….Voila!

Aaannnnddddd here we are, sitting inside our home in front of the screen and reading this, all because of a virus named CORONA. It’s like life has turned upside down for the humankind. The hustle has come to a halt. But not everything is as negative as you are thinking it to be right now. Surely this pandemic is changing us, our lifestyle along with our perspective too (good or bad, you know it best). Nevertheless there’s a lot that this time is teaching us which would stay as a life lesson for many of us.

Lockdown will not be there forever!
  • HEALTH IS WEALTH

The entire world economies have shut down, the activities have stopped and people are asked to stay indoors with bare minimum contact with other humans, why? All because for the well being of the people… of what good are going to be your lavish cars, extravagant lifestyle or other luxuries when you are unfit and unwell to enjoy them. It’s high time we prioritize our health and live a more harmonious life. Meanwhile a line of my late grandfather hits me which seems to be so relevant here:

ye zindagi ke mele, duniya mein kam na honge
afsos ye magar hai ki hum waha na honge

  • COUNT ON YOUR BLESSINGS

If you are at home, having a table full of meals, enjoying healthy life then bow down to god and genuinely express your sincere gratitude towards all of these blessings as not everyone is as privileged and blessed as you are. The world out there is going through tough times and here you are, enjoying your mini holiday at the comforts of your home. So always and forever make gratitude a part of your living and watch the things transform for you.

  • MIND YOUR MONEY

By now most of us have understood that how significant the savings are for us. Even though that would not last forever but certainly it could provide you cover to an extent. With all the malls being closed and several services being cut down we’ve realized what are essential for our survival and not much is required by a human to live. So let’s curb down the habit of thoughtless spending and be more mindful with our spending.

  • VALUE RELATIONSHIPS

Latelyit was such that even when the entire family is sitting together there was minimal communication as everyone used to be engrossed in their phones and devices. Ironically a pandemic changed it and people are having much joyful relationships at home. Thus, it’s always family over anything and everything else. Live this time together and strengthen your bonds as not everyone is fortunate enough to reach their homes and be with their families just like YOU.

and We will pray together again…

It’s all in the little things, start acknowledging them and keep patience through all of it. Things would change, a new morning would come and that day we all would be much better versions of ourselves.

Always remember: “LIFE’S WHAT YOU MAKE IT, SO LET’S MAKE IT RIGHT”.
